There are over 4000 evening classes in London and in 2008, the top ten type of classes taken were ranked in order of popularity from over 234 seats of learning.

It is encouraging to see diet classes in the top ten most popular evening classes and they are included as there is a formal training and learning session connected with weekly meetings for such companies as Weight Watchers and LighterLife.  The biggest suprise is that Law, the number 1 degree course in the UK isn't featured in the top ten evening classes, in fact it comes in at no 12.

The main source of finding an evening or short course is from publications such as 'Hotcourses' and 'Floodlight' which you can pick up from WH Smith's.

There are also some weird and wonderful courses out there in London which will give you something to talk about with your mates as to what you did last night.

1. TRAIN TO BE A STAND UP COMIC


'The London Comedy Course' seems to be the most respected on numerous stand up comedy course providers in London and are connected to 'Up The Creek' one of the UK's most famous Comedy clubs.   A number of courses are run from taster sessions to 6 week evening courses and 2 day weekend courses.  All ending up with you performing at 'Up the Creek' sessions. All the tutors are headline Jongleurs and Comedy Store comedians . sounds scary but fun!

2. LEARN TO POLE DANCE

3. BURLESQUE LESSONS

4.  LEARN TO JUGGLE

'Circus Space' Learn a number of circus skills. Why not go for the full Monty and sign up for the whole day, which will enable you to have a second go on the adrenalin fuelled Flying trapeze.

5.  SPACE ROCKET ENGINE BUILDING

Learn the basics of rocket building then help buld a rocket (a real one that uses rocket fuel) and then launch it.  We don't know much about what you will learn on this course but maybe it is just like a car mechanics course learning how to change a wheel, adjust a timing belt, replace a oil filter, re-energise a proton warp phaser or fitting rear pads.

6.   GHOST HUNTER COURSE

Join in with group seances, table tipping and more and break out into smaller groups to carry out your own investigations with ghost hunting equiptment which expert ghost hunters will demonstrate.

7.  HULA HOOPING - PROFESSIONAL

This one caught our eye, it isn't for everyone, only those who want a professional qualilifaction in it. The course states on the college webiste where it is taught that it is  a course over two weekends.  It cost £94, so we assume it is intensive and that all aspects of hula hooping will be covered in the price.  Professional skills like these are often transferable to the workplace so worth doing
